Keynote Speakers

Cameron, KirkKirk Cameron
Kirk Cameron has been a part of the national landscape since starring as “Mike Seaver” in the ABC hit sitcom, “Growing Pains.” Since then, he’s appeared in numerous television and movie productions, including the Left Behind series, Monumental, and Fireproof.

Kirk and his wife, Chelsea, met on the set of “Growing Pains” and have been married more than 27 years. Together they homeschool six children and host an all-expenses-paid summer camp for terminally ill children and their families called Camp Firefly.

Mason,JamesJim Mason
In addition to serving as HSLDA’s Vice President of Litigation and Development, Jim Mason serves as the President of and Vice President of HSLDA Action. Since joining HSLDA to lead the litigation team in 2001, he has represented homeschooling families in a wide range of challenging situations.

Jim was instrumental in litigating the 2008 California case Jonathan L., in which a state appellate court reversed its previous ruling that homeschooling was illegal, putting an end to years of controversy over the legal status of home education in California.

Jim and his wife Debbie live in Winchester, Virginia. They have seven children and two granddaughters. The Masons have homeschooled all of their children: six have graduated and one is still being taught at home.

Wayne,IsraelIsrael Wayne 
Israel Wayne is a homeschool graduate and father of ten who is passionate about defending the Christian faith and developing a Biblical worldview.

He is the Director of Family Renewal and author of the books Answers for Homeschooling: Top 25 Questions Critics AskEducation: Does God Have an OpinionPitchin’ a Fit!: Overcoming Angry and Stressed-Out Parenting, among others.
