Get ready for the 2019 CHEA Used Curriculum SALE (UCS, formerly UCE) at the 36th Annual CHEA Convention July 11-13, 2019!
Offering great deals on used curriculum and thousands of used books, teaching aids, and other homeschooling items, the UCS is a highlight for homeschool parents who are looking for a great deal.
Attendees are admitted by ticket Thursday night, beginning with the lowest numbers. Announcements over the PA system in the Exhibit Hall will let you know when your ticket number is coming up. A ticket does not guarantee entrance Thursday night, but we make every effort to ensure everyone who has a ticket is able to shop that evening. Please understand, because of fire safety regulations we cannot allow everyone in at once. CHEA’s Premium members have access to the UCS for one hour prior to ticketed admittance. Tickets are not needed Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are assigned first come, first served, so the earlier you pre-register the lower your ticket number will be. Request a ticket during the pre-registration process. If you pre-register, you will receive your ticket with your Convention materials when you check in at the convention.

If you register at the Convention, you may obtain a ticket at the Information booth after you have registered.

How to Be a Seller
We will begin accepting sellers on March 1, and will continue through July 7, 2019.
When it is time to sign up, we will have a link above that will direct you to the form to sign-up to be a seller. After completing that form, you will be directed to the information on prepping your items and all things related to the UCS.
If you prefer a more personal touch, after March 1 you can send your name, address, phone number, and number of items you will be selling to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will answer your questions and send you information via email on preparing your items for sale using the tag template we send you or index cards.
On Thursday, July 11 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., drop your books off at the Pasadena Convention Center. Upon receipt of your books, our volunteers sort them by grade level/type of book. We sell them over the course of the Convention. As they are sold, the tags you have put on are pulled off and sorted by name. We then file all those tags, and at the end of the Convention you can pick up leftover items and we write you a check for your sales minus the 30% commission, or you can choose to donate your items and we will mail you a check. That’s it in a nutshell; further directions are in the information packet that you will receive as you register.
What is the UCS?
UCS stands for Used Curriculum Sale. (Same as the Used Curriculum Exchange in prior years, just with a new name). It is our desire to serve home educators by providing an opportunity to sell used curriculum on consignment and acquire more at affordable prices. With more than 2,000 people in attendance at the convention each year, the CHEA Used Curriculum Sale provides the one of the largest markets for used curriculum in California. Best of all, we sell your curriculum for you.

What is the last day you will accept sellers?
Sunday, July 7, 2019 is our final day for submitting items for sale which allows us time to get our paperwork in order. The UCS has filled up before, though, so don’t wait until the last minute. If that occurs, we will start a waiting list and hopefully open up a few more spots.
What may I sell?
You can sell just about anything pertaining to homeschooling, not just curriculum. We do have guidelines in the packet we send you if you choose to participate.
