The Leadership Conference is designed to help equip those interested in leadership of private home education groups. This year our luncheon keynote will be given by Heidi St John. We hope you can join us!

About Our Speakers
Heidi St. John
A favorite speaker and author, Heidi St. John approaches marriage and parenting with humor and grace. Her passion to encourage moms and set them free to be who God has created them to be will bless and encourage you. Heidi has been married to her husband Jay since 1989. Together they have seven children and two grandsons! The St. Johns’ children range in age from early elementary school to adult. They have homeschooled the kids all the way through high school.
Heidi is the author of seven books. Her most recent book, Prayers for the Battlefield: Staying MomStrong in the Fight for Your Family and Your Faith released September 2018 and is the latest in the MomStrong collection. Along with a companion Bible Study and Journal, Prayers for the Battlefield: Staying MomStrong in the Fight for Your Family and Your Faith sets a solid foundation for moms everywhere. Join Heidi at MomStrong International, an online ministry where women come together for weekly video-led Bible Studies, Scripture Writing, online and in real life fellowship.
Rebecca Kocsis
Rebecca and her beloved, Ed, homeschooled all five of their children, graduating their youngest in 2006 from their homeschool. They are now the proud grandparents of an ever-growing tribe of energetic boys and girls (11 to date) who are their greatest delight. Rebecca served for 15 years as a PSP administrator and for several years on CHEA’s Regional Advisory Board. In addition to serving on CHEA’s board of directors she has also serves as General Manager. She is the author of the devotional booklet Let Not Your Feathers Be Ruffled.
Nathan Pierce
Nathan and his wife Betsy were married in 2004 and have six children. They are homeschooling their children and plan to do so until graduation. Nathan was homeschooled through high school and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in political studies from The Master’s College. He has had more than 14 years of experience doing advocacy work at the State Capitol. Nathan began his work at Family Protection Ministries in 2002 and serves as Legislative Liaison, California Director, and conference speaker to homeschool leaders, parents, and teens.
J. Michael Smith
Mike is the President of Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), an organization which he has been involved with since its beginning. HSLDA was established to protect the right of parents to teach their children at home, and now represents more than 80,000 families. Mike became involved in defending homeschoolers after he and his wife, Elizabeth, decided to homeschool their children. Mike has been doing keynote speaking to homeschool conferences for more than 30 years, and his desire is to communicate the benefits of home education and his belief that God has raised up this movement for a special purpose at this time.
Details
At-the-door registration will be available. However, luncheon is not included as catering requirements dictate that we have a final count for lunch prior to the event. We occasionally have a few spaces available up to a week ahead. If you miss the online registration deadline, feel free to call to see if there are seats available.
The Leadership Conference (including luncheon) is designed to help equip those interested in leadership of private home education groups. If you know leaders who are not CHEA Support Network Members but who may like to attend, please feel free to invite them.
250 and 450 Support Network Members receive entrance to the Exhibit Hall Grand Opening, including the Premium Members Preview, as well as admission for two to the Annual Leadership Conference.
Nursing infants whose parents are considerate of others are welcome.
CHEA’s 36th Annual Homeschool Convention opens Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Separate registration and admission fees (if applicable) are required for entrance to any part of the CHEA Convention.
